Ford Ranger Raptor Review Australia | Features, Specification, Price

The Ford Ranger 2021 line-up is continuously growing. Now they have introduced us with a new flagship Raptor X. There are many utes in the market that put style before substance, but the  Ford Ranger Raptor promises the immense off-road ability to match its imposing looks. The features like wider track, desert-ready Fox suspension setup, and proper off-road tyres, enable it to do things that most other utes can't. In the article, we will review the most astonishing Ford Ranger Raptor, so keep on reading!

Ford Ranger Raptor Engine:

The Ford Ranger Raptor introduced a new 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo diesel with 157kW of power and 500 Nm of torque. It is also mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission as standard, co-developed by Ford and General Motors. The engine is shared with the Ranger Wildtrak and XLT. This Ranger makes 52kW of power less than the Jeep's petrol, but 153 Nm of torque more.

The Ford Ranger Raptor uses a part-time four-wheel-drive system with a low range and locking rear diff. It is known to use 8.2L/100km on the ADR combined fuel economy cycle, but actually, it expects around 10L/100km. The braked towing capacity is 2500 kg, which is a tonne less than other Rangers.

Ford Raptor Ranger's Exterior:

The Ford Raptor X has a brilliant exterior design. The ranger' bonnet is finished with over-the-top stripes. These stripes also go on the roof and tailgate.

The exterior of the Ranger also incorporates a matte finish for:

✓ Grille

✓ Bumpers

✓ Door Handles

✓ Fender Vent

✓ Wheel Caps

This Raptor has 17-inch alloy wheels and BF Goodrich All-Terrain 285/70 R17 KO2 tyres. These Ranger wheels pick up a matte black finish.

Some other specifications of the exterior design of the Ford Ranger Raptor:

✓ Red front tow hooks,

✓ Extended leg sports bar (borrowed from FX4 Max)

✓ Red contrast stitching on the steering wheel and dash

✓ Black Ford logo on the tailgate,

✓ Hydrographic and Black Alley accents on the dashboard and door cards

Ford Raptor Ranger's Interior:

The interior of the Ford Raptor is similar to other rangers, but it is a little bit more exciting. This range's sports seats are a significant improvement for those in the Wildtrak. The seats come with firmer bolstering and better under-thigh support. The interior heaters also have more potential than the ones in the cloth/leather-trimmed pews in non-Raptor Rangers.

The seats of the Ford Raptor Ranger are a bit light on under-thigh support for gangly-legged drivers. For other drivers, the seats are the perfect blend of support and comfort. The Rear seat space is par for the dual-cab class. This implies that the headroom is decent for taller passengers, and legroom is enough to accommodate average-sized apprentices. The Ford Ranger Raptor has stumped for retractable grab handles. This is very thoughtful because it implies that rough roads won't cause concussions back there.

The interior lacks air vents. Without a  doubt, the three-pin and 12V plugs are handy, but cooling air would be more convenient on a hot summer's day. This Ranger line-up has some hard plastics scattered around. In case you are off-roading or aren't really gentle with your cars, then this could be a good thing. On the other hand, all the touchpoints are of good quality.

The cold metal paddles that are present behind the wheel provide a lovely touch. In addition, holding the chubby leather steering wheel feels nice. The handbrake lever is also trimmed in leather. The gear selector includes a reassuringly chunky feeling as well. The storage spaces of this RangerRanger are plentiful. The RangerRanger includes a deep central bin that is present under the armrest and an open space underneath the dashboard.

The technology front of the Raptor is what really shines. The sync 3 is way too ahead of Toyota's practical setup. It is even better than the updated infotainment system in the newest Nissan Navara.

Some other features along with satellite navigation include an Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and native voice recognition. The Ford Ranger Raptor has the best technological bones. Its interior is just perfect and includes every necessity, from the speedy responses to the slick graphics.

When it comes to safety, the Ford Ranger has a five-star ANCAP safety rating. This rating is based on testing that was conducted in 2015. The Ford Ranger scored 36.72 out of 37 points. Although this model of Ford Ranger Raptor has not yet been individually tested, it shares most of its safety features with the wider Ranger line-up. There are six airbags. This includes full-length curtain airbags. Even the Volkswagen Amarok can't match this feature.

Pros:

✓ The ride is like nothing else

✓ The looks are very amazing

✓ It has credibility like nothing else

Cons:

✓ It is an expensive car, even by Ranger standards

✓ It has the limited load-lugging ability

✓ It has a lack of adaptive cruise control

Final verdict:

There are a number of jacked-up XLTs that come with fake grilles, big wheels, and poorly raised suspensions. This proves that the market wants one of the Ford Ranger Raptors. Fortunately, Ford has done a very good job. We totally recommend this rager to people who want the toughest and most capable ute on the market in Australia. There is simply no single rival to it. This exceptional RangerRanger crushes speed bumps and jumps dunes like no other ute.

Additionally, it is backed by a five-year factory warranty. If you are looking forward to buying one of these, Don't forget to get its detailed history from Quick Revs. We provide easy to read reports online and at low expense.
