DBX Aston Martin Review Australia

Aston Martin had set up their shop in the UK over a century ago. This makes it one of the world's oldest car companies. It would not be wrong to say that this brand has legions of fans and enthusiasts worldwide. Aston Martin is known for its sports cars and, therefore, it has joined the party of SUVs very late. You would be surprised to know that the 2021 Aston Martin DBX is Aston's first attempt at building a practical crossover SUV.  It is an entirely new model that borrows most of the design from Vantage. To know more about this impressive SUV, keep on reading the DBX Aston Martin Review!

DBX  Aston Martin engine:

The Aston Martin DBX runs on the same engine as Mercedes-AMG's M177. This implies that it has a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine. The same engine is found in DB11 and Vantage. This engine produces 405kW of power at 6500rpm and 700 Nm of peak torque at 2200rpm.

It is coupled to a nine-speed torque converter automatic driving all four wheels. It has an electronic rear limited-slip differential and an active transfer case. The DBX, at full throttle, goes from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds with a maximum speed of 291km/h.

DBX Aston Martin exterior:

The exterior design of the DBX is a tricky thing to get right. Although it was very challenging to design an SUV for a brand that is famous for building gorgeous coupes and roadsters, somehow, the designers at Aston's managed to do an amazing and stylish job! They have designed it in a way that it looks even better than a sports utility vehicle.

The DBX is styled so that, when parked next to its siblings, it looks at home. This implies that despite being an SUV, its design makes it look like a sports car, which is high praise indeed.

On  the outside, it comes standard with the following features:

✓ LED lights front and rear

✓ 22-inch alloy wheels

✓ A panoramic sunroof

✓ Frameless doors

✓ Flush-fit door handles

When measuring the Aston's DBX, you get a 198.4 inches long, 80.7 inches wide, and 66.1 inches tall vehicle. The wheelbase of the DBX Aston Martin is also impressive and is 120.5 inches.

DBX Aston Martin interior:

DBX Aston Martin incorporates a majestic interior that has some bits supplied by Mercedes-Benz. On the inside, you will get plenty of space. The quality of the seats is first-class and provides excellent support and comfort. The whole interior surface of the DBX is covered in either leather, microsuede, or some other soft-touch material. This Suv seats five people comfortably. The interior space gets dividends due to the extra length of the wheelbase.

The space on the upfront seats is ample, but the British manufacturer boasts more of the rear seat space. This is because the rear has legroom rated at 41.7 inches, and the headroom is rated at 40 inches. The rear seats' design technique that Astons opted for deserves more than praises. This is because Aston provided a panoramic sunroof and large side windows rather than utilising the typical stadium setup that gives elevation to the rear seats to make the passengers see better.

The interior of the DBX Aston Martin comes with numerous luxury features that include the following:

✓ 12-way power-adjustable heated front seats

✓ Keyless entry

✓ Heated rear seats

✓ Push-button start

✓ Automatic three-zone climate control

✓ Auto-dimming side and rearview mirrors

✓ Acoustic laminated side glass

✓ 64-color ambient lighting

✓ A power tailgate

✓ A surround-view camera system

✓ A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster

It also has a panoramic glass sunroof that fills the cabin with light. In addition,  the approaching illumination prevents the passengers from stepping into puddles while returning to the car late at night. The infotainment system of the DBX Aston Martin has a 10.25-inch central display. This display is mated to an Aston Martin 14-speaker premium sound system.

In addition, this  infotainment system has the following:

✓ Bluetooth connectivity

✓ SiriusXM satellite radio

✓ Voice control

✓ Navigation

✓ Four USB ports

✓ Apple CarPlay

Unfortunately, it lacks Android autoplay, and the interface is poor.

DBX Aston Martin safety:

The cars with pricey price tags like the new DBX Aston Martin are rarely crash-tested by ANCAP or Euro NCAP. This is because of the high cost alone. Still, that doesn't necessarily imply that they aren't safe enough for the passengers.

The DBX Aston Martin comes with many active safety systems as standard, including:

✓ Front, side, and curtain airbags

✓ ABS

✓ Traction and stability control

✓ Hill-start assist

✓ Hill descent control

It also has the driver assistance suite that consists of some fantastic features like:

✓ Adaptive cruise control

✓ A speed limiter

✓ Forward collision warning

✓ AEB

✓ Lane departure warning

✓ Lane keep assist

✓ Rear cross-traffic alert

✓ Blind-spot monitoring

✓ Door opening warning

✓ Traffic sign recognition

On both ends, this SUV  is equipped with parking sensors together with a surround-view camera system. These features help the driver to avoid any nasty and expensive scratches.

DBX Aston Martin price:

As there's only one very highly-specified trim, it is priced at $357,000 before on-road costs. This implies that the DBX Aston Martin has the same price bracket as the Maserati Levante Trofeo ($330,000) and Bentley Bentayga V8 ($364,800).

Pros:

✓ It is the prettiest SUV by far.

✓ The stunning cabin makes it more desirable.

✓ This Suv handles like a sports car.

✓ It has fantastic off-road ability.

✓ This SUV has lots of customisation options.

✓ It becomes perfectly serene when you need it to be.

Cons:

✓ It requires more power.

✓ The infotainment system of the DBX Aston Martin is outdated and terrible.

✓ Its rivals are faster and more affordable.

✓ It is not overly economical.

The final verdict!

If you are looking for a more driver-focused SUV, DBX Aston Martin is more enjoyable to pilot than any rivals. You can expect a lot from this SUV, and it is implausible that you will be disappointed by them.  The design and style of this SUV make it very famous among females. One may go with this SUV because it provides luxury, space, safety, and technology that all high-end, high-priced SUVs offer these days. If you want to make such a big purchase, ensure that you are informed about such vehicles' history. To make an informed decision, write the details of your car on the online portal of Quick Revs and get a detailed account of the history of your vehicle at an affordable price.
