There are always those who start a trend. The trend-setters, we call them. Trends can be of anything, like literally, ANYTHING. There can be trends of eating, walking, talking, shopping, driving, owning, and basically anything that can be done can have a trend. The trend can simply be defined as a popular way of doing a specific thing that is adopted by everyone affected by it. The trend of sending emojis in text messages to express emotions has popped up since the last decade. The trend of wearing different styles of clothes to different events depending on what you are going to do there has been in motion for a very long time. However, our focus today is on the cars. As for the trends of cars, Honda has been a trendsetter since its early days. We are going to discuss Honda Civic Type-R today and provide you with a review of it.
Honda’s Civic line of cars has been with us since 1972. In the early days, Civic was a sub-compact car that went through a lot of changes. Nowadays, it exists as a compact car with a really nice exterior and interior. Available a reasonably good price and performing really well considering the cost, it is the number one choice for anyone looking for a casual car but with good looks and performance. Civic has always been the first to adapt impressively to the environment and change as the people wanted it. That makes Civic one of the best options for customers.
What’s so special about Civic Type R?
The design! Haha, just kidding. The design is the only kind of drawback-ish of the Civic Type R, however, it’s not that bad if we’re being honest. The design is a bit radical and is pretty unique as compared to the other vehicles. There are a lot of people who are against Civic Type R as a whole and there are an equal amount of people who love it. We are one of the later ones, so this article might be a bit biased. This surely does not mean that we will list all of the good parts of the Civic Type R while leaving out the bad ones. Everything will be balanced, just like all things should be. Honda Civic Type R is a really powerful car with a 306 horsepower engine equipped along with a six-speed manual gearbox for better control of the vehicle. The price of this vehicle is actually pretty low considering the competitors and their prices. If we compare the flaws of the vehicle with the features, the latter heavily outweigh the former and that’s how we know that Honda Civic Type R is a good car regardless of what the hater has to say.
Civic Type R Specs:
We have managed to extract a small set of specifications for Honda Civic Type R from the Honda website. As per the website, the Civic Type R has a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with an output of 306 horsepower and a torque of 295 lb.-ft @ 2500-4000 rpm. Apart from that, it has a 6-speed manual transmission system with 3 drive modes; Comfort, Sport, and R (race? Maybe).
Colors:
Currently, Honda Civic Type R is available in the following colors; all of which are mesmerizing and fit amazingly on the design of the vehicle:
✓ Crystal Black Pearl
✓ Rallye Red
✓ Sonic Grey Pearl
✓ Aegean Blue Metallic
✓ Championship White
✓ Polished Metal Metallic
Civic Type R Features:
Honda has made the Civic Type R with a lot of features equipped for it. There are too many of them to list here in this article so we will keep it short and just list out the best of the features so you can have an idea of what it is like to own one of these and what benefits can you get out of it:
Performance:
The Civic Type R has an amazing performance. The 306 horsepower engine is a powerful tool that can get your daily life really leveled up. You could be out there racing others or picking your kids up from school and this car will never disappoint you. Other than that, the roar of the engine is just so wholesome. The performance of this vehicle, combined with the braking, suspension, transmission and the handy-but-weird-design of the vehicle is something you don’t see every day.
Customizability:
Civic Type R is extremely customizable. You can change whatever you want. Many people throw some types of vinyl on the car, attach spoilers on the back, custom rims on the tyres and make it look like a sweet ride from one of the Needs for Speed games. However, you don’t have to do all that, you can just tune up what you want and it will look like a beast but it will be your best, the one which you love and care for.
Reliability: You guessed it, it is reliable. When you have all the things offered to you at such a great price and the awesome amount and quality of features that can be found in not a lot of other cars, you know the vehicle is reliable. Nothing too complicated here.
Are there any drawbacks?
So, we said before that we will list out of the negative aspects of Honda Civic Type R too since our article needs to be perfectly balanced, as all things should be (yes, this is a Thanos quote). Some drawbacks of this Honda are as follows:
Society:
There is no proper reason, but for some reason, people don’t love it. There are two kinds of people in this world, those who LOVE Honda Civic, and those who hate it. Many of the people generally dislike Honda and are pretty against it. There’s always an uncle in a family who hates your car and always claims that he is better. Oh well, we live in a society.
Design:
The design is a bit not-so-simple and kind of unique. It is not “Oh my God, that car looks AMAZING” design, but it has its own perks. This design allows the vehicle to have proper aerodynamics advantage to itself, but the fact that it looks weird is a negative point.
Honda Civic Type-R Price:
Honda Civic Type R starts at AU $31,550. Considering the features that you get with the vehicle, I would personally say that this is a pretty reasonable price. A powerful car, kinda cools looking design and the Honda branding ahead of it, what more could you ask for? The direct competitors cost a lot more than that.
So, is it really a good car or…?
As we said before, there are two types of people; Honda-loving and Honda-hating. Since we are from the first type, we will say that it is a good car, yes. However, you might disagree with us. That’s why we laid out everything there is about Honda Civic Type R in front of you so you can make a decision for yourself without anyone clouding your judgment.
