It is a well-known fact that Audi has the perfect car for every need. The range of the Audi A5 also features an array of models, since its launch in 2007. It was initially revealed as a coupe. Later, a convertible was introduced, which can be expected from the German car manufacturing company. And the four-door Sportback that was the most popular.
Among all the variants, where does that leave the standard Audi A5 coupe? It is currently in its second generation. If we were to describe the A5 in a single word, it would be ‘elegance. We take a look at the series as a whole and primarily focus on the coupe and what makes it such a sought-after vehicle today.
The Audi A5 has been in production since 2007. With all the German technology out behind the car by Audi, it came out as a coupe in the early days. In the subsequent years, Audi A5 Sportback was revealed and the Audi A5 convertible.
The Audi A5 coupe is a four-seat car and offers ample space for the front passengers. However, the rear seats are a bit cramped. For this reason, we believe that it should be a two-seat car rather than seating four. The five-door version is better when it comes to seating capacity.
The Audi A5 boasts an excellent and responsive drive, following your every whim. It also includes Audi’s famous Quattro driveline, which is a huge plus.
Engine Specification:
For the Audi A5 coupe, it is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder 40TFSI engine. It is capable of producing 187 bhp of power and an impressive 236 lb-ft of torque. This is for the petrol engine. The diesel engine variants are capable of producing 161 bhp using the 35 TDI and 187 bhp with the 40 TDI.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you see it, but the Audi A5 coupe does not offer a manual transmission. Instead, you can only go for the Quattro four-wheel drive.
Driving Experience:
The base model A5 has never truly been tied in with driving rushes. There was consistently the S5 and RS5 for that. However, is that still the case since the overwhelming V6's have been dropped for lightweight four-pots?
All things considered, the pre-facelift 40 TFSI does satisfy the state that the vehicle's GT-like character has not been lost. The A5 should not be lively. It does not have to urge you to get your foot down at each break in the rush hour gridlock – its clients will think more about the reality it looks chuffing phenomenal.
Versatile suspension implies it is agreeable as well, even on the greatest of huge wheels. The absence of street commotion is momentous.
Try not to misunderstand us, the A5 is not terrible to drive. The dynamic guiding is profound at ordinary speeds and body roll is kept to a base. Even then, the seven-speed S Tronic double grasp gearbox has been thwarted by WLTP guidelines. 0-62mph takes 7.3 seconds in the 40 TFSI.
The diesel 40 TDI is the main A5 Coupe with Audi's Quattro four-wheel-drive framework. The rest are front-wheel drive as it were. In case you are searching for greater inclusion, a BMW 4 Series or Mercedes C-Class Coupe with its capacity sent to the back pivot may be the better choice.
Interior and Space:
The interior is where the Audi A5 scores the maximum points. It has a similar cabin to the Audi A4, but that is certainly not a bad thing. The interior design is top class. The quality of material that is used is premium. The leather used is real and the metals and woods are tactile.
Surprisingly, all the things are not for the benefit of looking good. They are usable as well. The digital cockpit is 12.3 inches and offers a clear view of the dials and gauges. The climate control is kept separate for ease of access.
The Audi A5 also offers a huge boot space with almost 450-liters of capacity which really is something. The front seats are spacious and comfortable. Alas, the same cannot be said of the rear seats, where legroom is a little tight. And a special mention for the boot space. Not something we’d often celebrate but 450-litres is more than enough.

Audi A5 Price Australia:
The standard price for the base Audi A5 coupe 45 TFSI Quattro is $79,000 before on-road costs. Audi claims that they have cut down on the price. You can pay an extra $9,000 for the additional equipment. The A5 Sportback has the same price as the Coupe. The Audi A5 convertible is slightly pricier, starting at $84,000. This is the price for the 40 TFSI while the 45 TFSI adds another $10,000 to the price.
Pros:
✓ Top of the line styling
✓ Handsome interior with good quality material
✓ Good road grip for all conditions
✓ Value for money and decent pricing
Cons:

✓ All feature variant is pricier
✓ Lack of adaptive dampers as standard
Our Verdict:
It seldom happens that a facelift fails to impress the masses. And that is truer than ever with the Audi A5. The second generation has aged well, with an improved look and various variants. The exterior is sportier than before and if only looks could kill! If you are one of those people who love beautiful cars, then this is the right choice for you.
The cabin for the A5 is one of the best that you can get. That makes it a pleasurable car to live with. However, if you are expecting a sports car then that is not the case. A V6 engine is absent from the A5, even though it is capable of producing a lot of power. But that still does not mean that this is a sports vehicle.
In short, if you are looking for a grand two-door coupe with all the comfort and luxury in the World. But are not bothered with speed and performance, then the Audi A5 is worth checking.
